We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex technical initiatives that align with KCHA’s strategic goals. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to manage project scope, resources, and timelines while ensuring high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will apply industry-standard Project Management methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework to implement innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency. This position operates under the general direction of the Vice President of Strategic Operations.

Essential Functions
The IT Project Manager:
Leads end-to-end management of IT projects, including defining scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders; develops and maintains project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations while applying industry-standard project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Framework and tools (Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet) to ensure effective project delivery.
Serves as the primary point of contact for all IT project stakeholders, facilitating collaboration across departments and with external vendors; maintains clear communication channels for updates, risks, and dependencies while managing stakeholder expectations to ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Provides expert guidance in selecting, deploying, and integrating enterprise IT systems; stays informed on emerging technologies to recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency and proactively manage project scope changes, resource needs, and contingency planning.
Conducts ongoing risk assessments, implements mitigation strategies, and establishes quality assurance protocols to ensure projects meet organizational standards; identifies and manages project dependencies and critical paths to minimize disruptions.
Develops comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements, workflows, and training materials; delivers executive-level presentations on project outcomes and collaborates with the Business System Governance Team to continuously improve project management practices and align projects with organizational goals.
Mentors and guides IT project teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment aligned with KCHA’s values; delegates tasks effectively, resolves team conflicts, and supports high performance through active leadership.
Qualifications and Competencies
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND
Considerable (5 years or more) relevant experience planning and delivering IT-related projects, including at least 2 years of experience guiding project teams, driving outcomes, and providing direction or mentorship in a cross-functional environment OR
An equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Thorough knowledge of:
Related industry, organization and department policies and legal guides, best practices and procedures, recommendations, ordinances and laws.
Software development lifecycles, IT infrastructure, and system integrations.
Demonstrable skill in:
Implementing and managing enterprise IT systems (e.g., ERP, HRIS, CRM) and/or enterprise infrastructure and platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
Use of Project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet), Accounting software (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, databases, etc.), and standard office equipment.
Managing complex IT projects from initiation through successful delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
Outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Ability to:
Analyze and interpret technical and business documentation, including contracts.
Compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
Make and maintain working relationships with associates, clients, consultants, customers, key stakeholders, supervisors, and the general public.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines and budgets.

Special Requirements:
Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile (SAFe, CSM, ACP) upon hire.
Valid driver's license in the State of Washington.

Salary & Benefits:
The complete salary range for this position is $102,238.00 - $150,289.75 annually with a midpoint of $126,263.00. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market. Salary is negotiable., dependent on qualifications and professional experience. Performance-based merit increase opportunities and Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) are reviewed annually. After initial onboarding, this role will have the opportunity to work remotely in accordance with the KCHA's flexible work arrangements; however, remote work conditions will be reviewed on a regular basis based on business and program need. Employees must reside in Washington State and having the ability to report to the Central Office in Tukwila will be required. Some local travel may be required to support KCHA business needs.
