Mountain community members gathered together this weekend to help spread some holiday cheer.
The Asheville Dream Center says nearly 200 volunteers came out on Saturday, Dec. 11 to help build bikes and wrap toys ahead of the center’s “Hope for the Holidays” event scheduled for Dec. 18.

The season of giving is here and the San Antonio Housing Authority is making sure local children and elderly residents in need get presents this Christmas.

"The Housing Authority of Paterson (PHA) and the Paterson Division of Health are partnering to offer unvaccinated resident participating in the PHA’s Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) $100 per family member over the age of five that gets the vaccine.
"Extensive science tells us that getting vaccinated is the best way to prevent contracting COVID-19," Irma Gorham, PHA Executive Director, said. "Where vaccinated patients have gotten COVID-19, the impact has been much less severe."

"After The Holston in the Alliance corridor opened in June, Kendrick Ladd moved in with his clothes, a few personal items and his sister’s car. He is an Army veteran who was dealing with homelessness.
Today, Ladd, 32, is running a mobile mechanic business, Kendrick Ladd’s Auto Repair. He is working on getting the LLC paperwork complete.
