HUD has published the FY23 Jobs PlusNotice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), which makes $22.5 million available to PHAs for helping families increase earned income. Applications will be due on August 21, 2023. HUD anticipates making 12 awards under this NOFO, and each grant size will be between $1.6 million to $3.7 million.
PHAs that may apply for funding under this NOFO include those that received FY 2014, FY 2015, FY 2016, FY2017, or FY2018 Jobs Plus grants. PHAs that received a Jobs Plus program grant for FY 2019, FY 2020-2021, or FY 2022 are not eligible for an award under this NOFO.
This NOFO greatly expands the list of eligible properties. Newly eligible PHAs and projects include projects with a minimum size of 100 households where at least one resident in each of the households is non-elderly (less than age 65), and properties where at least 40 percent of the households (excluding households consisting only of elderly residents) that report no earned income in PIC.
The U.S. Department of Energy is making more than $22 million available for Buildings Upgrade Grants (BuildingsUP)to build capacity and accelerate equitable and efficient building upgrades across the country. Buildings UP provides cash awards and technical assistance to support the transformation of existing buildings into more energy-efficient and clean energy-ready homes, commercial spaces, and communities.
BuildingsUP is open to teams of organizations that may include PHAs, municipalities, states, counties, Tribal governments, regional planning organizations, and community-based organizations. Eligible building upgrades may include transitioning to efficient electric equipment, including heat pumps and heat pump water heaters, and improving building efficiency through measures such as insulation and air sealing.
The deadline for submitting Phase 1 Concept Prize applications is July 18, 2023, at 5 p.m. ET.
The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation is accepting applications for Charging and Fueling Discretionary Infrastructure (CFI) Grants, a new $2.5 billion program from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to fund electric vehicle charging and alternative-fueling infrastructure. The Federal Highway Administration has published a helpfulProgram Questions and Answers document.
This NOFOoffers up to $700 million from Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023 to strategically deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and other alternative fueling infrastructure projects in urban and rural communities in publicly accessible locations. Housing authorities are eligible applicants.
